Senior Estimator working on large-scale excavation and shoring, civil infrastructure projects

Your new company

Our client specializes in large-scale excavation and shoring, civil infrastructure, utility installation, road construction and land development projects. They serve the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley and have successfully completed a wide range of private and public sector projects valued from $150,000 to $10 million.

Your new role

As the Senior Estimator, you will work closely with the Controller/Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for various civil construction projects. This is an exciting position as it is an opportunity to come in and work closely with the owners of the company and increase the company size and scale of projects that are brought in. In the role, you will not just be another number, but this will be a position that is very hands-on, and your opinion will matter.

You will gather proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents to put together estimates. You will manage and be responsible for several tenders at one time. You will be responsible for all detailed takeoffs and technical analysis, including risk assessment and project schedules. The role will also involve business development aspects, where you will be actively involved in bringing in new clients and maintaining current ones.

What you'll need to succeed

The job requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil, earthworks, and underground utilities. A complete understanding and ability to read and understand project drawings, specifications, and tender requirements. Proficient in Bluebeam, Agtek, Timberline, Heavy Bid and MS Office. A technical education in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplines are considered an asset.
