Your New Position

We are currently seeking a Procurement Analyst to join our team in Voisey’s Bay, NL. This is a temporary position ending December 31st, 2024.


  • Leading RFP’s for Goods and Services Agreements
  • Negotiating Terms and Conditions
  • Total Cost of Ownership Analysis; Productivity Analysis
  • Conduct a pre-qualification process of prospective bidders. Analysis of prequalification forms, recommend and obtain approval of proponent’s lists.
  • Establish and implement project-specific procurement strategies.
  • Prepare and launch the Requests for Proposals.
  • Receive proposals, proceed with the commercial analysis, and manage internal and external communication.
  • Arrange explanation / clarification meetings / site visits.
  • Conduct a complete commercial evaluation and formulate the overall evaluation with the technical input.
  • Attend and lead negotiations with selected proponents before award and draft the recommendation for award.
  • Review exceptions to GTCs with Legal (others) prior to Agreement finalization; maintain GTC issues log.
  • Ensure that all awards are drafted to incorporate supplier / contractor obligations to owner and mitigation of risk as much as possible.
  • Ensure awards meet quality, compliance, legal, ethical and safety standards, as well as in accordance with the IBAs, Newfoundland & Labrador IEBA and other Vale obligations.
  • Process and issue purchase orders/contracts.
  • Prepare and issue contract documents for signature with the input from other project functions.
  • Conduct handover meetings to the Project representatives, ensuring that all team members are conversant with owner and Supplier/contractor obligations as stipulated in the award.
  • Manage the change management process.
  • Ensure the assembly and maintenance of records for the purpose of administering purchase orders/contracts.
  • Strictly control modifications to the orders/contracts, negotiating requests for modifications, claims and litigation, if necessary; · Commercial closeout of order/contract, if any de-commits required.
  • Issue and close the purchase order (PO) in the ERP system.
  • Provide timely and effective communication of issues to the Procurement Leader.
  • Manage key suppliers in the region and develop the business relationship for specific products/services.
  • Other duties as required to ensure that the project is completed to the standard required by Vale or as requested by the Procurement Leader.



About You

Education:
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas of study: Economics, Business Administration and/or Engineering
  • Power BI training and knowledge would be an asset

Experience:
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experienced in leading RFPs for Goods and Services Agreements
  • Experienced in negotiations of contracts – terms and conditions
  • SAP software knowledge

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of RFP process – good knowledge of Goods and Services Agreements
  • Experienced in leading RFP process and execution
  • Understanding and experienced with Total Cost of Ownership Analysis
  • Strong Negotiation skills – terms and conditions of an RFP
  • SAP Computer software
  • Excellent computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS outlook
  • Strong understanding of MS Excel – pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, etc.
  • Power BI knowledge and skills would be an asset
