1st class power engineer / Chief Engineer
HAYS Manufacturing has partnered with a client to look for their 1st Class Power Engineer.
Your new role
This role will be responsible for will play a crucial role in overseeing the steam boiler and pressure at the manufacturing site. At the same time, this role will be training and leading the team including the overall staff (Utility Shift Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, and Operations Maintenance Coordinator).
As a leader on the site, it will be expected that you foster a Health and Safety culture, lead and provide continuous improvement of powerhouse operations, team competence, and leverage problem-solving tools. It will be crucial to Analyze plant performance data to identify opportunities for improvement in regard to the plant’s performance by conducting various reports.
Your experience and qualifications
- Certified 1st Class Power Engineer
- Experience of +8 leading the overall department
- +10 years of experience managing, training and leading from the front
- Experience with the Forestry, Pulp and Paper industries, (open to review Mining, O&G candidates with great leadership skills)
- Experience Promoting safety culture in large manufacturing sites.
- Strong knowledge of utility equipment, including powerhouses, boilers, and chillers.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and staff.
Your Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, day shift, with on-call availability 24/7.
Salary Range 160,000 - 192,000 + Benefits + Bonus + RRSP + Relocation Package
