Assistant Site Superintendent role for a large general contractor in North Bay, Ontario

Your new company
Hays has partnered with a large general contractor and construction management company headquartered out of Toronto, Ontario. They are currently working on a $100M plus ICI project in North Bay, Ontario that will run into 2026, and they are in the market to bring on an Assistant Site Superintendent.

Your new role
The open role is for an Assistant Site Superintendent to work alongside the Site Superintendent, Project Team and development team, supporting the supervision of the construction project site. This Assistant Site Superintendent will help to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest of safety standards and quality throughout. They will organize various trade contractors to work collaboratively on site and ensure that the quality of workmanship are the standards specified in the construction documentation. Furthermore, they will help assemble the job site office and equipment requirements along with monitoring and maintaining the construction schedule. They will identify any risks and minimize any issues that arise and be responsible for all field documentation such as daily logs and other required reports.


What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate for this Assistant Site Superintendent role will have a minimum of 3 years as an Assistant Super or Site coordinator on commercial/industrial projects. They will have excellent knowledge of procedures, methods, condition and documents related to the construction process and be able to understand the scopes of work project and schedule. They will interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents and overall be an excellent leader and supervisor for the team. They will have a strong understanding of Provincial Building Codes and health and safety regulations. Finally, the Assistant Super will be an effective communicator and be proficient with construction software and computer (MS) applications.
