A Leading Technology Firm is hiring an experienced Mainframe Architect to work on this 6-month contract in Toronto.
Your new role
You will be working as an application architect in this specialized field, with responsibilities that are crucial in transforming legacy mainframe systems into modern, efficient, and scalable solutions.
What you'll need to succeed
- On-Site Presence:
You must be available on-site 2–3 days per week. - Design Expertise:
You’ll be responsible for creating high and detail-level designs for COBOL, JCL, and CICS. This includes developing architectures, conducting peer reviews, and defining target state architectures. - Agile Collaboration:
Collaborate with the team in an agile fashion, jointly owning the solution and effectively interfacing with other parts of the organization. - Product Roadmaps:
Maintain product roadmaps, focusing on both modernization and leveraging cloud solutions. Address product technical debt and provide mentorship. - Mentoring and Code Review:
Apply your knowledge of programming techniques to mentor developers and review code as needed. - API Development:
Create, test, document, and troubleshoot new and existing APIs. Work closely with architects, application developers, networking architects, and infrastructure teams. - Flowcharts and Specifications:
Provide specifications using flowcharts.
