Senior Interior Designer

Job opportunity for a senior to intermediate architect with a firm located in Vancouver

Your new company
Your new company is of one of the leading architectural firms in the design of multi-family and mixed-use projects, transforming skylines spanning broadly over the West Coast. The firm also has significant expertise in the design of entertainment complexes including theatre, hotel, F&B, retail, convention, and gaming facilities. Recent projects include a 1.9 million square foot mixed-use redevelopment of Metrotown’s Station Square, the Solo District, the Brewery District, and Modello. They have also received multiple awards for its work.

Your new role
In your new role you will be responsible for building client relationships and participate in design presentations, business development pitches and ongoing project correspondence. You will be integrating with their client’s processes and design philosophies to deliver quality work. You will work with their clients to determine programming requirements and establish project goals/objectives. The successful candidate will work with the team to produce compelling and informative presentations that exceed visual expectations. Part of your role will be to prepare 3D modeling during design development to clearly convey the design intent to the client. Experience with rendering plug-ins an asset. You will be responsible for coordinating with and manage external teams including engineers, consultants, vendors and general contractors. You will support internal teams on a variety of projects to best serve our other industry clients within Interior Design and Architecture. You will manage team deliverables, project schedules, and budgets. The successful candidate will support or lead various projects with varying budgets, timelines and scope of services. You will be responsible for mentoring and train Interior Designers and Technicians as well as actively participate in professional development and peer reviews.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will hold a Degree/Diploma in Interior Design or related field. You will have a minimum of 7 years of work experience in commercial, mixed use, and residential projects. You will be registered or eligible to be registered with IDIBC. The successful candidate will have an understanding on how texture, light, colour interact to create an environment. You will be proficient in REVIT for producing high quality construction documentation. You will be self-directed, able to work independently and know when to reach out for guidance and support. The successful candidate will be passionate about design and project management, positive and be a patient individual.
