Your new role
At SMS Equipment our Sales Representatives provide customers with cutting edge technology, parts and services within the heavy equipment industry. They establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and manufacturers, solving technical problems and generating customer solutions as a value-added supplier. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their sales experience, positively and drive to our sales team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Sales solutions. Provide detailed equipment proposals to meet customer’s specific requirements. Evaluate used equipment to help provide a market-based value. Monitor economic trend and new product development. Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts, budgets and prospective reports.
  • Customer relationships. Main point of contact for customers and manufacturers. Analysis of customer information to Sells products and services to equipment owners, contractors and fleet operators. Solves technical problems and generates customer solutions as a value-added supplier.
  • Special Projects as assigned. Participate in major promotions, new products launches and new marketing initiatives. Leverages professional associations and affiliations to build customer networks and relationships.

What you'll need to succeed
Our Sales Representative qualifications include strong sales orientation with 5 years’ experience within the construction / industrial industry. Additional qualifications include:
  • Familiarity with construction/forestry equipment and the heavy equipment industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and have a general working knowledge of computer systems.
  • Ability to safely drive company vehicles for an extended period.
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive in keeping abreast of cutting-edge technology and best practice pertaining to the Company’s products and services, enhancing expertise, performance and bottom-line productivity.
  • Proficient communication skills in dealing with customers and O.E.M.s.
