PROJECT ENGINEER (Senior) Your new company
A leading oil and gas (pipeline) industry, with multiple offices across Canada, are looking to onboard a Project Engineer (Intermediate). This is for a 2-year contract role. Your new role This role offers work for one of the leading oil and gas industries. Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates effective control of project cost expenditures and in addition the ability to forecast budgeting overruns and shortfalls
  • Analyzes long-term trends on project performance metrics and makes recommendations to project management team on corrective actions and can be tasked to develop new business policy to improve future project performance metrics
  • Coordinate or direct the work of external consultants
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the numerous department stakeholders’ expectations and expert contributions and how they can contribute to the project’s success
  • Promote and Manage project safety, and can be tasked to lead incident investigations
  • Support the development and implementation of TransCanada's project management tools
  • standards and processes to support the implementation of capital and maintenance programs within Canada; Can be tasked to manage junior project engineer staff
What you'll need to succeed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; registered
  • Ten years of relevant Engineering experience
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation
  • Proven analytical skills and critical thinking skills with the ability to research, gather, analyze and synthesize multiple sources of information (technical, contractual, regulatory, etc.)
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and effectively deal with multiple and competing demands and tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving skills
  • Commitment to health, safety, environment and quality
  • Strong team orientation, demonstrating a high level of cooperation
  • Previous experience within pipeline construction or operations is considered an asset
  • Experience in pipeline and facility engineering design, construction and commissioning is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Canada gas meter station operations, design, regulations, design standards and specifications is considered an asset
  • EPC background is considered an asset
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
