Our client in Financial Services is looking to hire a Procurement Specialist for a 3 month contract

A leading financial institute, with multiple offices across Canada and throughout the world are looking for a Procurement Consultant for a 3 months contract. They have an excellent reputation within their sector and are known as a market leader.
Your New Role
Lead procurement contracting activities within the Technology Services spend category. Working with Technology Sourcing team to review vendor contracts and identify specific clauses .Role will require both independent contribution as well as team involvement .Lead sourcing initiative with team . Manage project . Work with internal clients to gather business requirements .Develop negotiation strategy. Negotiate legal terms, business terms and pricing with suppliers. Engaging and working with Sun Life legal. Finalizing the contract to Sun Life standards.This includes providing guidance in negotiations with respect to risk and ensuring related governance processes/policies are adhered to and completed prior to final approval. Reporting weekly and biweekly on activities and tasks.
What you’ll need to succeed:
Procurement Experience experience leading sourcing initiatives and projects, identifying savings opportunities and driving change; preference given to candidates with experience in IT Sourcing category (e. g. Software); 5+ years sourcing experience
Interpersonal Skills Effective client relationship management skills are critical in this role. Candidate must be able to lead internal clients in sourcing projects as well as support Sun Life’s internal business needs. Must be able to work collaboratively within the procurement team as well as internal clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and senior management. Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, client departments, outside suppliers and global partners.
Contract Knowledge strong negotiation and contracting skills (for various complex business acquisitions); Strong working knowledge of and ability to negotiate contract terms and conditions; Experience reviewing and evaluating agreements, License Agreements, Amendment, etc.
Communication Skills candidate must be an excellent communicator both written and oral communication. The successful candidate will need to play a lead role at meetings. The successful candidate also must have excellent listening skills. This role requires that the candidate draft Amendments, draft contract summary emails to senior management, communicate deal approach, both in email and verbally.
Project Management Skills Candidate must be able to lead as well as manage sourcing project. Must have experience creating project plans, managing to plans, communicating effectively and engaging necessary stakeholders in projects only as required.
Initiative The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently.
