Due to growth they are seeking a Parts Inventory Analyst to join their growing yet established team. This is a 100% remote role that will require the candidate to visit sites once or twice a year.

Your new role

Reporting to the Parts Operations Manager this position requires the incumbent to develop and maintain ongoing collaborative professional branch and supplier relationships. The incumbent is considered the “go-to” person for inventory information. Guidance will be sought for more complex issues. The incumbent is required to provide inventory analysis, reporting and maintenance of SMS Parts Inventory for Elkford, Timmins & Wabush. The incumbent is empowered to prioritize daily workload in a busy office environment or work remotely.

  • Review daily and weekly stock order reports to ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained for Elkford, Timmins, and Wabush Branches.
  • Negotiate parts returns with suppliers.
  • Procure recommended spare parts lists from vendors and refine to suit customer requirements.
  • Ensure proper systems maintenance for parts master files.
  • Quality control of data entered into parts master files.
  • Create RSPL’s for new equipment entering our market area.
  • Process stock re-orders listings.
  • Prepare Purchase Orders for replenishment of inventory.
  • Ensure stock orders are placed with vender order desk personnel or vender order entry systems.
  • Investigate back ordered items and communicate to the branches in your area of responsibility.
  • Coordinate transfer of surplus inventory between branches.
  • Maintain Consignment inventory data base.
  • Undertake special parts analysis projects meant to understand and improve level of parts support.
  • Act as a solutions provider and a source for general parts support and process training.
  • Assists in generating, developing and maintenance of required reports
  • Track, coordinate, and report on ROIC initiatives
  • Coordinate annual inventory counts for the above Branches

What you'll need to succeed

  • Journeyman Parts Technician or Purchasing Certificate
  • Three to five years related warehouse and inventory control experience.
  • Three to Five years of related industry equipment experience
  • Excellent computer skills – Word, Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal and team play skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy environment with great attention to detail.
  • This position is responsible to monitor, measure and report the inventory levels in the following areas of operation:
    • Elkford, Timmins, Wabush SMS parts warehouses
    • All Customer consignment warehouses assigned by SMS
    • All Vendor Consignment warehouses managed by SMS
