Your new role
As the Intellectual Property Legal Assistant, you will be supporting senior partners within the firm. In this role, you will be handling all administrative tasks such as answering/directing phone calls, managing email, releasing dockets, coordinating meetings and travel, and preparing expense reports amongst other duties as assigned. In addition you will be assembling and filing court documents for all levels of court, preparing and organizing materials for trial, opening and closing files, some research tasks, and interacting with clients and counsel on behalf of the lawyers.
What you'll need to succeed
We’re looking for a Legal Assistant with 3+ years’ experience in Intellectual Property law and knowledge and experience with Federal Court. A Law Clerk Certificate/Diploma is not required, but considered an asset. You will posses advanced technology skills in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, ACL, Accounting Software, Docket Software, Document Management Systems, and Digital Dictation Software. Must have exceptional written/verbal/proofreading skills, strong organization and multi-tasking skills, a proactive approach, and work well under pressure.
What you'll get in return
Competitive salary ranging from $60,000-$65,000 with 3 weeks paid vacation, paid sick days and full benefits package after probationary period with RRSP matching to commence after 1 year.
