The company is a multi-disciplinary Design & Build firm located in the Fairview neighbourhood of Vancouver. Their disciplines include workplace, retail, healthcare, education, and light industrial project types. With over thirty years of industry experience with projects throughout Greater Vancouver and Western Canada, they are a leading firm and have built trusting client relationships. They are one of the few firms in Vancouver with a complete in-house team; from designers to construction managers. They use state of the art technology, including virtual reality software so clients can ‘walk through’ their space before it is even built!

Your new role
In this role, you will be a key leader of the Interior Design team. You will be reporting directly to the owner. You will be working on commercial, office, and healthcare facilities. The successful candidate will be exceptional with design and leadership, with project management experience. You will be managing the schedule of projects, the quality of services, and be developing and managing internal/external deadlines. This role requires you to have the ability to provide excellent mentorship for the design team, engage in business development, work hands-on with projects, and work in a fast-paced studio environment. This position is both external- and internal-facing and will require leadership in key meetings, charrettes, and presentations.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have 10+ years of local experience, a Degree or Diploma in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school, as well as experience with a range of projects in corporate, commercial and healthcare facilities. You must be proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. You will have completed the BC Building Code course, have experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and completion of NCIDQ would be considered an asset. You are a self-starter that believes that design is a collaboration between the client and designer. You are a team player, you have built great relationships with suppliers, contractors and consultants. You have an exceptional eye for detail and know the local and provincial Building Code like the back of your hand and have extensive understanding of contract documentation, project documents and schedules. Experience mentoring and leading teams will also be considered an asset.
