Hays Human Resources division in Toronto are partnered with our client, a global leader in Resources, Mobility, and Energy to hire a Human Resources Manager, to join their existing and growing team based in downtown Toronto.

Your new Company

The company is a wholly owned Canadian subsidiary of a large, global network, who have positioned themselves to be recognized as one of the worlds most diversified investment, trading, and services enterprises across the Globe. The business brings over 60 years of experience within Canada, due to progression planning, the company is hiring a Human Resources Manager to join them.

Your new Role

As the Human Resources Manager, you will lead all Human Resources functions for the business’s Canadian operations. Reporting directly into the President, you will lead a team of two in Human Resources and will work closely with the leadership team for the organization, to lead all Human Resources functions for the Canadian business. This role will work closely with Senior Management, to develop and implement corporate business strategies, inclusive of Organizational Structure Planning, employee relations, recruitment/ retention, performance management, supervision of payroll, organizational design & succession planning, education/ training, compensation & benefits and legislative compliance (health and safety, pay equity, WSIB, employment standards). The Human Resources Manager will lead a small but mighty population of just under 100 employees across three provinces in Canada. This role will work closely with its counterparts, other Human Resources leaders across the Americas for the organization.

What you’ll need to Succeed

To succeed as the Human Resources Manager, you will bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, at a leadership level in a similar sized organization. You will have experience managing Human Resources programs and payroll, and have education relating to Human Resources in the form of an HRM Designation and/ or CHRL. Experience working with a global company is considered an asset for this position; we are seeking someone who understands the nuances of working in a global organization, and who enjoys having the ability to collaborate with other Human Resources leaders across the Americas. You will have experience leading a team in Human Resources and be someone who leads by example. You will have very strong knowledge of labour laws and Human Resources Regulations within Canada.

The company operates in a hybrid work model and shuts down for a week over the December Holidays.
