A global, industry-leading ICI & high-rise Construction company, focusing on Commercial, Institutional and High-rise construction projects for over 50 years, is currently looking to hire an Estimator to be based in their Toronto office with experience of estimating on ICI & High-rise construction projects across the GTA.
Your new role
In your job as Estimator you will be responsible for the preparation of estimates of cost and price on construction projects, tender pricing on construction projects, risk assessment on price supply & demand and length of project, establish and maintain commercial relationship with clients, sub-contractors and consultants and provide advice on construction project methodologies. The Estimator will also provide expert advice and guidance to other team members, keep up to date with new construction materials, methodologies, rules and regulations, identify risks and opportunities in a design, and develop/procure alternatives, understand and comment on the form of contracts and their risk profile, maintain a database of cost information, monitor the change control process and be pro-active in developing new business opportunities
What you'll need to succeed
To qualify for this Construction Estimator job, you must have a background in Building, Construction or Quantity Surveying. You will have minimum 4 years’ experience working in a similar role for a large construction company. You must possess a university level degree in either construction, engineering or quantity surveying. A RICS / PQS accreditation would be advantageous. You must be familiar with the construction market pertaining to costs of labour and resources.
