The Heavy Equipment Mechanic maintains, repairs, and rebuilds heavy equipment.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice, Anchorage The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice maintains, repairs, and rebuilds heavy equipment at the shop in a safe, efficient, and capable manner. The successful candidate must be able to work in the USA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist Mechanics with general labour duties and tasks
  • Make recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement
  • Repair the equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner
  • Think logically and keep up with changes in technology
  • Employ workplace health and safety practices at all times
  • Be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have related education and experience working within with Heavy Equipment environment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Other requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Must be legally able to work in USA
  • Must be able and willing to travel to Canada
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid drivers license
