Solterra Developments is a well-established, award winning developer with beautiful projects throughout British Columbia. Over the past 18 years, the team at Solterra has been involved with the development of many award-winning multi residential communities across the Lower Mainland. With a focus on designing their projects from the inside-out, they work closely with architects and engineers to create practical floor and space plans that reflect their values in creating homes that feature exceptional design, solid construction and quality finishes.

Your new role
They are currently looking for a Director of Interiors to join their diverse company. The successful candidate will work closely with the Owner of Solterra in all project phases from initial engagement and development to completion, leading in design of all interior spaces. They are looking for someone with a desire to strive for excellence on every project through an integrative approach. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing all creative spaces while supervising the junior team. You will delegate and assign tasks to junior staff, as needed. You will be working closely with all consultants on projects, while establishing and maintaining the visual identity of the brand across all channels. You will manage scheduling and budgets and work to complete construction administration from tender through project closeout.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a unique eye for design, the courage to “think outside the box”, and the ability to implement your vision. You will have at least 5-10 years of local working experience in an Interior Design role, coupled with a relevant Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution. You will be great at multi-tasking and problem solving, and have a hands-on background in developing ideas and tools with the ability to bring them to life. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Photoshop with knowledge of the BC Building Code and Vancouver building bylaws. You will have vast experience in leading and managing creative teams and complex interdisciplinary projects. Solterra is looking for a dynamic and highly effective leader with excellent communication skills, a team oriented attitude, accountability, and a high level of motivation. .
