Your New Role: We are looking for a Data Scientist with statistician/ mathematician experience to grow our Data Science team to generate actionable insights and create new growth opportunities for Company. The focus of this role is to lead, develop, evaluate, and implement advanced analytics and predictive modelling initiatives to create data-driven solutions across lines of business and domains. This is a unique opportunity to apply your analytics skills in a uniquely Canadian organization rich in history and data KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Data Processing Identify, extract, and mine relevant data sources for business analytics Pre-process structured and unstructured data including data cleaning, and validating data integrity for analysis and modelling Organize data into usable formats, databases and develop analytic solutions Advanced Analytics/ Predictive Modelling Build and maintain predictive models and machine learning algorithms including prototypes of new solutions/ methodologies Analyze data for trends, patterns, and solutions to guide business decisions Prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and data visualizations for internal clients Distill problems into actionable business recommendations Stakeholder Management Collaborate with subject matter experts, internal clients, and IT teams on solutions Facilitate requirements gathering and feedback loops to align on project goals and expectations Recommend solutions and strategies to solve business challenges based on data analysis and insights What You’ll Need to Succeed: M.Sc. or B.Sc. in a quantitative field preferably in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science. 6+ years of professional experience in the applicable field. Experience with advanced analytics including Machine Learning & predictive modelling, time series, NLP, clustering & segmentation, and test/control significance testing. Strong statistical and mathematical fundamentals, knowledge, and skills. Strong aptitude for data analysis and ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret large scale datasets. Experience solving problems for clients from idea development to implementation. Proficiency in one or more statistical programming languages such as Python (preferred). Proficiency with data visualization tools including Power BI. Excellent presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audiences. Considered an Asset Experience with AWS platform and parallel processing, e.g., Spark/ Apache Hadoop. Experience with geospatial analytics.
