Business Development Associate

Seeking a Business Development Associate for a full time, permanent position.

Hays has partnered with a leader in the Canadian Software and Asset Management industry. We are currently looking for a Business Development Associate for a full time permanent role located in our clients Whitby’s office.

Your new role
  • Lead on the day-to-day winning of work in support of the North America (NA) Business Development (BD) Strategy
  • Maintain an up-to-date CRM activity pipeline
  • Act as Account Manager for all NA clients and partners
  • Supporting our global partner management
  • To manage touchpoints as agreed by Global BD
  • Ensuring no Support Ticket breaches against SLA
  • Accounts Receivable is maintained to policy
  • All North American Clients have an Account Plan
  • Work with Global Partner Manager for all existing and potential partners with Global BD
  • Review and revise as necessary all aspects of existing partner program strategy
  • Develop marketing package for partner program
  • Present package to prospective partners
  • Be responsive to needs of existing partners
  • RFP & Sales Handoff SOPs followed for all opportunities
  • Develop superior understanding of product line for demo purposes to prospective customers
  • Schedule regular meetings with senior management about prospective leads and opportunities
  • Define project goals, objectives, resource requirements and clients’ expectations for completion date
  • Be aware of status updates on ongoing projects to customers and inform Global BD as required
  • Evaluate project strategies and deliverables (including client service) for effectiveness, efficiency, and costs
  • Develop minimum of 4 Case Studies submitted to Marketing Department in year
  • Min 4 meetings with active prospects per month
  • Conduct a market analysis into enterprise asset management software in the North America Transport sector helping to identify potential markets
  • Manage the BD group for North America and report directly to the Global BD Director
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews of direct reports

What you'll need to succeed
  • This position requires a highly focused, self-managing, technically savvy individual who has experience with selling and delivering Enterprise software solutions or a subject matter expert in infrastructure asset management.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to a problem
  • Active Listening - Strong collaboration, listening and facilitation skills
  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Strong communicator - Demonstrates confidence in well written and articulate oral communications with strong presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines
  • Customer focused -High degree of professionalism
  • Solutions focused - Track record of taking initiative to find the best ideas
  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field or an MBA is very highly desired
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in advanced understanding of processes, techniques, and tools
  • US State Level Industry experience and contacts are very highly desired
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Driven to succeed
  • Autonomous and self-managing
  • Basic IT understanding with high comfort level in the O365 suite (especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
  • Highly adaptable to change and comfortable working in ambiguous environments.
  • Spanish Language Skills would be considered an asset, but not mandatory
