Our client, an experienced international equipment dealership focused on solutions is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for their Acheson, AB location. The position is 100% remote.

Your new role
Reporting to the Team Lead, Accounts Payable, this position works closely with other members of the Accounts Payable team, senior accounting and branch staff to ensure accurate and timely processing and reporting of accounting information.

A) Responsible for the processing of all invoices including:
  • Data entry of high volume payables
  • Verifying general ledger account coding on invoices
  • Checking and coding expense reports
B) Responsible for vendor payments.
  • Cheque runs in CDN and USD funds
  • Wire payments
C) Responsible for reconciliation of specific financial accounts monthly
  • Reconciliation of Vendor accounts paid by statement.
  • Reconciliation of other General Ledger clearing accounts.
  • Reconciliation of General Ledger to the Subledger
D) Responds to all inquiries.
  • Directs vendor inquires through phone calls, faxes, emails.
  • Reconciles vendor statements.
  • Responds to inquiries from accounting staff and clerks within accounting area and at branches.
  • Position processes daily transactions in accordance with governing policy and procedure.
  • Position works within established policies and procedure and is required to exercise judgement to determine how the guidelines should be applied to specific situations. Position consists of various timelines and deadlines requiring an incumbent with good time management and organization skills.
  • Transactions that are sensitive in nature or need further clarification or corrections are referred to the Controller, Corporate.

What you'll need to succeed
  • This position typically requires a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a high volume fast paced Accounts Payable capacity.
  • Position requires incumbent to have excellent attention to detail, keyboarding skills, prioritizing and time management skills and be comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Post secondary education in accounting would be preferred.
  • Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills are an asset.
  • Strong data input/keyboarding & Excel skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Quick learner, able to prioritize and manage their time.
