Heavy Duty Mechanic (Anchorage)

Our client, a leader in the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Utilities industry are seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their growing team. This role will be a permanent opportunity and you will be working in Anchorage, Alaska.

Your new role
You will be responsible for working mostly in the shop to perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls of heavy equipment servicing the construction, oil, and utilities customers. You will need to be able to make recommendations and suggest methods of improvement regarding repairs. You must be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment and have strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety. This role will be Monday to Friday and 40 hours a week.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have at least 3-5 years of experience repairing off-road heavy equipment (excavators, haul trucks, dozers, loaders, graders, and more), strong experience in working with road construction equipment, ability to work without supervision and able to meet the physical demands of this role. You will also be able to employ logic and deductive reasoning or use software in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
