This role will be a permanent opportunity and the successful candidate will be working in the Reman shop in Acheson, Alberta.

Your new role
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Technician maintains, repairs, and rebuilds heavy equipment and components in the shop in an efficient and capable manner. This position works 12 hour shifts on a 7x7 rotation (days and nights).

You will be responsible for working in the shop to perform assemblies, repairs, and complete overhauls of heavy equipment hydraulic components servicing the mining industries. You will need to be able to make recommendations and suggest methods of improvement regarding repairs.

As a heavy equipment technician, you will need to be able to think logically and keep up with changes in technology. You will interpret work orders and technical manuals to guarantee top customer satisfaction. You must be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment and have strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.

What you'll need to succeed
You will possess a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification or a Millwright certificate and at least 2-3 years post ticket. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Interprovincial Red Seal is considered an asset. You will have experience in repair/maintenance of mining size heavy duty equipment and their components. Experience with Komatsu Equipment is considered an asset, but other brands of heavy equipment in similar sizes and models will be considered too. You will have strong skills in precise measurements and know how to use micrometers. You will bring strong written and verbal communication skills to the team.
