Business Analysis Manager for a Growing Global Mining Organization

The client of Hays, a leading global leading producer of iron-ore, copper, cobalt and precious metals and the world’s largest nickel mining company, is looking to hire a Manager of Business Analysis to join their Sudbury operations. The incumbent in the role will provide leadership of the business support and analysis to Finance team as a member of the North Atlantic Finance management team. This individual will be responsible for the financial evaluations for the North Atlantic, in addition delivering data analytics and projects, to support the success of the North Atlantic finance team.

Your new role
As the Manager, Business Analysis, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Drive Financial Evaluations/Product Cost Reviews for the North Atlantic to support investment decisions.
  • Deliver Data Analytics to meet the needs of the North Atlantic finance teams and provide insight into the plant operations, leveraging appropriate tools and providing user support and training.
  • Report Creation in applicable tools including SAP BI to facilitate efficient and effective gathering of data.
  • Lead projects for example activity based costing / zero based budgeting for the North Atlantic Finance Team, driving standardization and efficiency to meet the goals of the business.
  • Benchmarking internally and externally to provide insight and learning to the organization
  • Primary Finance business partner for Integrated Business Planning function, communicating the work, goals and information from each team and ensuring a strong and effective working relationship.
  • Pro-actively develop networks with both internal and external contacts with individuals/groups who can be useful and influential in terms of information, knowledge, resources and support (including Government organizations). Keep up to date on financial developments (accounting, taxation,). Ensure continuous professional development and general awareness of external best practices. Apply knowledge and information internally.
  • Lead and continuously develop a successful finance team that is positioned as credible, proactive and trusted thought partners through building relationships and delivering results ensuring the on-going development of finance capabilities
  • Lead the North Atlantic finance team as the Node lead and key contact for the North Atlantic Finance

What you'll need to succeed
As the Manager of Business Support & Analysis, you will have the following qualifications:
  • Ideal candidate will hold undergraduate degree in related area
  • More than 10 years management experience, finance and accounting,
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must be an experienced decision maker as part of a multi-functional operations management team,
  • Superior problem solving skills and experience working for a large multinational organization.

What you'll get in return
As the Manager, Business Analysis, your starting salary will be from $130,000-$150,000 + plus 30%-60% bonus, depending on years of expertise.
