Your new role

As a Senior Payroll Analyst you will be part of a small team that are responsible for full cycle payroll processing. The duties of this role will have a strong focus on process design and project work. Some of the day to day responsibilities will include analyzing systems and methods, and being able to recommend and implement any changes that would improve efficiencies within payroll. Also, analyzing, preparing, and inputting all payroll data. You will be asked to review and analyze semi-monthly payroll and ensure accuracy. Your role will include preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger support, ensuring processes, responding to employee queries and assisting in yearend payroll processes of adjustments (T4s’ and T2200’s). All of these duties must be done in compliance with federal and provincial standards and you will be expected to study existing and new legislation, acquiring qualified opinions, and advising management where required.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful applicant for this position will have at least 7 years’ experience in progressive payroll experience. You will need to have ADP system experience, and if you have Ceridian experience as well that would be strongly preferred. You will not need to be as strong with SAP but some exposure is necessary. It is require that you have PCP or CPM certification. Additionally you will need strong payroll/HR systems knowledge, you will have experience with systems implementation that includes project documentation and management. You will also have advanced Microsoft Office capabilities. The individual who will be successful in this role will have strong analytical and organizational skills, they will be able to work under tight deadlines and will be able to prioritize their work. This individual will also have strong written and verbal communication skills, have accurate data entry abilities, will be able to work as part of a team and will have high attention to detail. This individual will be professional and able to meet the highest standards of confidentiality.
