Your new role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director of Purchasing, the Solutions Specialist will work in a true business partnership position where you will provide analytical information to improve operational efficiencies across the Supply Chain and Procurement divisions. The Solutions Specialist job will present many opportunities for you to demonstrate your analytical abilities, industrial expertise and inquisitive nature. Working in a professional creative autonomous, energetic environment, the Solutions Specialist will be responsible for using quantitative methods to enhance indirect/direct supply chain processes, procedures and controls. With continuous focus to finding a better way you will partner with senior leaders to identify trends, costing efficiencies and improvements to minimize spend in the repair, construction and overhead categories. Utilizing your data analysis skills you will perform deep dives within large data sets to measure KPI’s controls and cost metrics. The Solutions Specialist will create strategic reports using forecasting tools to predict accuracy within demand planning. Presenting operational efficiencies to senior leaders you will pave the path for the company to excel in their highly complex industry.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Math, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related field combined with 5-7 years’ experience within a data driven position(s) from project focused industries such as Aerospace, Engineering, Heavy Machinery, Shipbuilding, Construction, Oil and Gas or Nuclear development. An SCMP or CIPS designation and an MBA are considered strong assets although strong experience is truly appreciated. The candidate will have exceptional numeracy and organizational skills and be a high energy team player. Exposure to 21st century eProcurement systems such as Jaggaer as well as ERP platforms such as JDE ERP are imperative for this role. The Solutions Specialist must have intermediate to advanced technical skills using MS excel as well as expertise in supply chain solutions. Managing multiple priorities at any given time, the candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and emotional intelligence.
