Your new role

As the Intermediate Procurement Specialist, you will have an opportunity to be a part of one of the largest fastest growing shipbuilding projects in history. You will be reporting directly to the Team Leader of Purchasing in the Ship Repair division and working collaboratively with the direct and indirect spend teams. In this exciting role you will apply your industrial expertise, energy and strategic procurement capabilities in an innovative and progressive environment. The Intermediate Procurement Specialist is responsible for engaging a worldwide supplier base to create and maintain strong relationships while ensuring quality, cost, and exceptional delivery performance. Taking ownership of contract management, you will demonstrate your contract law expertise and negotiate long term agreements through ISI’s ERP and the MRP system. With focus on integrated sourcing initiatives you will analyze market conditions of pricing, availability, lead-time and capacity though eProcurement systems to implement category sourcing strategies. This role presents an opportunity to facilitate the growth and improvement of the procurement process in an adaptable environment.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Accounting or Finance, or a related field, as well as 2-5 years’ experience within a project-focused and growing business. Exposure to new eProcurement systems as well as creating complex SLA’s and contracts for third party suppliers is imperative for this role. An SCMP or CIPS designation is considered an asset. As a technologically savvy procurement professional you will work in a high energy first class team to deliver results by utilizing your strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
