Stelco, an International Steel Manufacturing and Production organization, is actively looking for a Vendor and Contract Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognized brand while working within a new and growing division. The job is located in the Hamilton area and reports directly to the Director of Technology and Transformation.

Your new role
In this job as a Vendor and Contract Manager your primary duties will be to secure the best value of purchases that support the company’s operations and business objectives by evaluating suppliers for quality, pricing and delivery timeliness. This function also requires the vendor manager to initiate and manage relationships with vendors and internal operational department to allow for a platform for contractual negotiation Duties will include; Facilitate and maintain relationships between strategic vendors and internal resources, including IT stakeholders and executive leadership. Understand relevant market trends and vendors. Track, gather and analyze market and industry data. Manage contract review meetings to ensure delivery against objectives and contract budgets. Collaborate with key stakeholders in the business to establish, prioritize and track strategic requirements to be communicated to vendors. Work with all teams (security, compliance, legal and tax, HR, accounts payable [AP], etc.) to ensure that vendors are performing in accordance with existing requirements and regulatory obligations. Oversee the creations of any statements of work (SOWs) and understands any current requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) that are in the pipeline. Perform overall contract oversight for performance management, which includes benchmarking and SLA tracking. Formulate a Sourcing Strategy.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have the following qualifications; Minimum of 3 years of managing IT contracts and relationships, or experience as an IT vendor managing customer accounts and relationships. Bachelor's degree, preferably in an analytical field (such as general business, economics, psychology, computer science, mathematics, statistics or finance). Deep market knowledge of the category of IT services. Some level of technical experience – understanding of IT, technology and its applications in a business context. Business experience and understanding of the manufacturing industry is a strong asset. What you'll get in return
