Stelco, an International Steel Manufacturing and Production organization, is actively looking for an IT Vendor Management Lead to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognized brand and work with a well-established sales division. The job is located in the Hamilton area and reports directly to the IT Project Manager
Your new role
In this job as an IT Vendor Management Lead you will be responsible for leading and executing the organization’s IT sourcing strategy and ensuring that the strategy aligns with business objectives. You will be responsible for managing the IT vendor management team and be the primary interface between internal IT stakeholders and IT vendors. You will lead the initiation and management of IT vendor contracts and, in conjunction with IT Management, design, implement, and manage the IT operating model as it relates to third-party sourced IT services. Duties will include; Develop and lead the IT vendor management strategy, ensuring that IT vendors are delivering maximum value through their services. Lead IT vendor selection and contract negotiations activities. Lead the implementation/transition-in/out of IT vendor service contracts. Ensure the IT vendor management function is mitigating, monitoring, and managing vendor risks. Establish the right organizational structure, and provide for staff development. Facilitate and maintain executive level relationships between IT vendors and internal resources, including IT stakeholders and executive leadership. Understand relevant IT market trends and key vendors. Lead IT sourcing events, including the creations of any statements of work (SOWs) and understands any current requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) that are in the pipeline. Perform overall contract oversight for performance management, which includes benchmarking and SLA tracking. Develop regular reports on contract milestones, execution and risk, and inform internal customers, vendors and management. Provide appropriate support/training to senior staff as it relates to managing IT vendor relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have the following qualifications; Minimum of 7 years (prefer 10+) of initiating and managing IT vendors and relationships in a complex IT environment is essential. Experience in managing multiple complex IT contracts in a broad range of IT categories, including hardware, software (including ERPs), cloud, managed services and communications/networking. Bachelor's degree, preferably in an analytical field (such as general business, economics, psychology, computer science, mathematics, statistics or finance). CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or similar designation is an asset. What you'll get in return
