Hays is recruiting for a Junior Account Manager - Well-established supplier of paints

Hays team in Montreal are working exclusively with UCP Paint to recruit a Junior Account Manager, 0-3 years experience.

UCP Paint Inc. has been an independently owned and operated company. It has been recognized as a supplier of high quality paints and coatings as well as a leader in product innovation. The company has enjoyed steady growth and now supplies products from its 120,000 square foot, state of the art manufacturing facility. UCP partnered exclusively with a national major well-known home products retailer to supply nationally its painting products.

You will be the UCP primary contact for this major retailer/major account and will be responsible for daily client activities including project management, timelines, budget, and relationship building.
You will localise and manage the execution of defined programs/projects and will take the lead on bringing relevant actions from product and brand development, through roll-out phase, to finished good retail positioning . You will collaborate with the Category Business Manager (client side) to develop local programming that best fits customer and consumer needs. You will also work with this BM to track reports/performance and identify opportunities to leverage UCP portfolio within the retail environment. You will also work closely with the Director of Retail and Operations to meet specific segment growth strategies. On a marketing side, you will manage key vendor network to create and deliver POP materials for a large retail location network– exterior packaging, in-store displays, brochures, trend cards, take-home chips, digital color tools . You must be able to manage weekly call with the clients or larger team to brainstorm on all projects, respond emails and phone calls quickly, while also simultaneously managing multiple projects.

What you will need to succeed

  • 0-3 years’ experience in account management with demonstrated customer service acumen, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Degree in a business/marketing related field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate consistent sound judgement and creative thinking.
  • High attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, both in English and French.
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively under strict timelines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform effectively as a member of a team and also as a leader, to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
