Senior Interior Designer / Design Lead with a leading Architecture & Design Firm (~Up to $110k)

Your new company
A fantastic opportunity to be a strategic leader, mentor and collaborator, heading the Interior Design department with a large reputable Architecture and Design firm, now exists. This position is in Edmonton, but is being advertised out of province as this firm is open to bringing an individual on board from other provinces. This firm is in need of an exceptional interior designer who can lead a small interiors department and add to their dynamic team and impressive portfolio of work. The successful candidate would be in an excellent position to further develop their career with a large and reputable firm which has a collaborative team culture.

Your new role
As the senior interior design lead, you would be responsible for working with clients from the initial design phase right through to project completion. This would involve interpreting, organizing and executing the conceptual design of a project, and following through with project management to the final stages. Project surveying and site visits, space planning, sketching, drafting, specifications and construction administration would also be a part of this role. Team work and leadership is a substantial part of this role and this firm needs an individual who has the capacity to foster growth and creativity amongst a growing and dedicated team. This position would require the candidate to work with existing clients and projects and strengthen existing relationships.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be in possession of a Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, and have at least 8 years of experience with at least 5 years of that coming from within Canada. A Masters degree would be an asset. Strong technical skills with AutoCAD and SketchUp is required, and working knowledge of Revit is desirable. This firm does a large variety of work and therefore a variety of experience would be best with some experience in either Corporate, Commercial, Retail and Residential being ideal. Being a registered interior designer would also be an asset, as well as being in possession of an NCIDQ, however, these are not essential. Most importantly you must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively manage and mentor staff.
